Noon concert

FARMINGTON – The noontime concert on Wednesday, Nov. 30, will feature a Vienna Trio: Al Bersbach, cello; Ginny Weil, piano; and Jessica Parsons, violin. The trio will perform Beethoven’s “Trio Op. 70 No. 1” (Ghost) at the concert from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the door. For more information, call 645-2157.

CPR course

FARMINGTON – Registrations are being accepted for a community cardiopulmonary resuscitation course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

The course, which is the healthcare provider module, will follow the standards and guidelines for CPR from the American Heart Association and is designed for the public. It will include information on basic cardiac life support techniques for adults, children and infants, as well as instruction on auto electronic defibrillators.

The course must be attended in its entirety in order to receive certification. The fee is $40 and includes a textbook. Class size is limited and preregistration, as well as a pretest, is required. To register, visit the FMH Education Department or call Kristen Grondin at 779-2381.

Make connections

WILTON – The Western Mountain Women’s Connection invites men and women to the Tuesday, Dec. 6, meeting to be held from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Boiler Room on Main Street.

The guest speaker will be Bob Ramey, a New England businessman who exchanged his life of luxury for an opportunity. Laurie Soucy of Rumford will display her handcrafted vintage-style jewelry with semi-precious stones.

Church events

TURNER – Turner Village Church has planned Christmas activities to which the public is invited.

There will be an adult Christmas party at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Those attending are asked to bring a item from around the house and spare change. A Chinese auction will benefit the Angel Tree that provides Christmas gifts to families of prisoners.

Community Christmas Caroling will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Those going should meet at 6:30 p.m. at the church. There will be refreshments at the church after.

A children’s Sunday school presentation will be held and the adult choir will perform at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18. There will also be a Christmas message, “Happy Holidays and a Blessed Christmas.”

A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24. Pastor Nate will share the story behind a favorite Christmas carol.

The Christmas morning service will feature a drama presentation of “The Giving Tree” at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25. It will take the place of Sunday school and the 10:30 service.

Seniors meeting

LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Nov. 21 with 42 members present. Prior to the meeting the group had a meal in observance of Thanksgiving Day, then expressed their thanks.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting. Norman and Pauline Duguay were welcomed back, and the group extended their best wishes to Emile Richard, who is recovering from surgery.

The group will hold a Chinese auction on Monday, Dec. 19. The 50-50 was won by Doris DeMillo and a Christmas creche was won by Athanase Couture. The meeting was adjourned and cards and games were played.
