Bake sale
MEXICO – Peru Brownie Troop 662 will hold a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at Wal-Mart.
Benefit supper
ANDOVER – A benefit supper will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the First Congregational Church for Andrew Jones and his family to help pay medical bills. The menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread and dessert. Cost for adults will be $6; children, $3.
Coffee House
DIXFIELD – Six local musicians will volunteer their time and talents from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, to help insure that children affected by Hurricane Katrina and Rita wake up Christmas morning with a few gifts.
Usually, the Dixfield Congregational Church, sponsor of the monthly Coffee House, invites local musicians to perform and pays them a portion of the profits. But this month all monies taken in, including admission and dessert sales, will go to Toys For Tots.
Dan Hart, principal of Dirigo High School, has agreed for use of the school cafeteria as the venue. Musicians to appear are Paul Lowell, Side by Side, Alan Hutchinson, Derek Blodgett and Charlie Maddaus. Homemade desserts, gourmet coffees, tea and beverages will be available. Admission is $6 for adults; $3 for children ages 6 to 12; under 6, free. For more information, call 562-4588.
Volunteers needed
RUMFORD – The River Valley Relay For Life Committee, under the direction of Diane Mitchell and Peggy Briggette, is looking for volunteers to sit on the Relay For Life Committee and for the Relay For Life event in May. The committee will start meeting Jan. 18 and continue the third Wednesday of every month until the event in May. Anyone interested can call Diane at 364-8358 or Peggy at 364-4611.
Craft fair
ANDOVER – A craft fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Andover Fire Station. Tables will be available for set-up at 8 a.m. and cost is $10 each.
