NORWAY – To celebrate Children’s Book Week, Nov. 14 to 19, Norway Memorial Library has a display called “Remembering Dick and Jane” in the glass case.

Karen Ellis, children’s services coordinator, contributed her collection of Dick and Jane readers, workbooks and other memorabilia of 1950s reading instructional materials. The public is invited to see the display through November and learn about the author/creator of the Dick and Jane readers, as well as other details about the pictures and text.

Other activities to celebrate Children’s Book Week include Adopt-A-Book for the children’s collection and the new computer lab opening reception at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Second-grade class from the Guy E. Rowe School will also visit, and author Dean Bennett will talk with children age 5 and up about his new children’s book, “Finding a Friend in the Forest,” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

For more information about any of the events, call the library at 743-5309.
