Emily Scholl graduated May 15 from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Scholl is the daughter of Elaine Toutain of Lewiston and Dr. Donald Cannan of Minot. She was a 1997 graduate of Lewiston High School and completed her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire. In the summer of 2004, Emily spent two weeks with other students doing dentistry in the remote villages of Peru. During her time in dental school, Emily coordinated the dental clinic at South Park Inn, a homeless shelter in downtown Hartford, as well as volunteering at the special olympics and providing care to her own set of patients in the school’s dental clinics. Emily has been accepted as a two year resident in pediatric dentistry at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, after which she plans to return to Maine to practice.
