LOVELL – The Lovell Historical Society will soon begin construction of a research and learning center. It will be housed in the connecting ell between the main house museum and the barn.

Builder Gary Crowell has agreed to do the construction and plans to preserve as much of the original as possible. Updating to accommodate computers and copy machines will need to be considered.

The 1839 workshop directly above will remain intact and will be accessible by the stairway in the first-floor research and learning area.

The construction will begin right after the July 10 antique show and sale. The fund-raising is well under way and will continue until completion.

The exterior appearance will be improved. An open house celebration will take place when construction is complete.
