LEWISTON – The Pentecostal Kid’s Church, the Jesus Party, will recognize June as National Candy Month and will serve a candy buffet at all of its events and children will have the opportunity to win gifts certificates throughout the month. All gatherings will take place at 6 p.m. at Jesus Party Headquarters, 291 Bates St.

Friday, June 3: a Helen Keller observance will be held. Children will see an animated video and learn about Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan. The film was created by former Disney director Richard J. Rich.

Friday, June 10: Children’s Chapel with prayer, sing-along, Bible lesson and snack.

Sunday, June 12: Children’s Sunday, ministry directors Doug and Sonia Taylor will hold a children’s appreciation night filled with games, music, Veggie-Tales, video and food.

Tuesday, June 14: Flag Day celebration with a video, which Irene Bedard, the voice of Disney’s Pocahontas, narrates, will journey through American history. The program explains the origins and evolution of the American flag, the role of Betsy Ross, the national anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner” the Pledge of Allegiance and proper care of the flag.

Friday, June 17: Children’s Chapel with prayer, sing-along, Bible lesson and snack.

Sunday, June 19: Father’s Day, a religious event honoring God the Father (Christian concept). Focus will be put on the Lord’s Prayer and Sunday school songs. The Bible lesson will deal with spiritual fatherhood.

Friday, June 24: Children’s Chapel with prayer, sing-along, Bible lesson and snack.
