NORWAY – The Maine Arts Commission will offer an afternoon of free artME workshops for artists, arts educators, cultural entrepreneurs, arts organizations and interested community members on Wednesday, May 18.

Concurrent workshop sessions will be held at the Norway Memorial Library at 258 Main St. and The Commons at 443 Main St. The workshop schedule is as follows:

The Commons: noon to 12:50 p.m., “Agency Support for Arts Organizations”; 1 to 1:50 p.m., “Public Relations and Marketing for Artists and Cultural Entrepreneurs”; 2 to 2:50 p.m., “Building a Strong Portfolio”; 3 to 3:50 p.m., “Arts in Education’: and 4 to 4:50 p.m., “Working with National and Regional Funders.”

Library: noon to 12:50 p.m., “Public Art in Maine”; 1 to 1:50 p.m., “Community Arts Development and Traditional Arts”; 3 to 3:50 p.m., “Maine Creative Economy Initiative”; and 4 to 4:50 p.m., “Technology for Artists and Cultural Organizations.”

All open houses will run from noon to 5 p.m. and will be held in accessible venues.

The schedule for other artME workshops is Whitney Artworks, Portland, May 10; Berwick Academy, South Berwick, May 11; Musee Culturel du Mont-Carmel, Lille, May 24; Maine Center for the Arts, Orono, May 25; and Eastport Arts Center, Eastport, May 26.
