BETHEL – Larry Glatz, chairman of the Oxford County Bicentennial Committee, will be the featured speaker at the spring meeting of the Oxford County League of Historical Societies at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, to be held at the Bethel Historical Society’s O’Neil Robinson House.

Anyone wishing to learn more about the celebration is invited to attend. Following the meeting, Jeremiah E. Goulka, who has recently edited a book on Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain’s post Civil War letters, will speak on the Maine Civil War general. He will also autograph copies of his book.

The talk is free and open to everyone interested in learning more about Chamberlain.
