LEWISTON – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Americaine, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center.

Following the group’s monthly business meeting, members will be entertained by a program of traditional French-Canadian jigs and reels music performed by fiddler Jessie Gagne-Hall.

A native of the Franco-American community of Manchester, N.H., home to the national headquarters of the ACA, Gagne-Hall now lives in Portland and performs with the Maine contra dance band, Wake the Neighbors. A violinist since the age of 4, she graduated last year from Bates College, where she was a member of the college’s orchestra.

Gagne-Hall will be joined in her local ACA appearance by Greg Boardman, director of the strings program for the Lewiston Public School System and Gagne-Hall’s folk music mentor while she was at Bates.
