LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, and Auxiliary will meet at noon Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St. All members are invited. The agenda will include programs, membership and future events.
AARP speaker
LEWISTON – Androscoggin Chapter 4077, AARP, will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at the Multi-Purpose Center. The board of directors will meet at 12:30 p.m.
The speaker will be Jerry Poulin of the Fortin Group of Lewiston and Auburn, who represent the Dignity Memorial Network.
Poulin will conduct a Dignity Memorial senior care seminar, commonly called the first living will “with a heart.” He will provide information on the awareness of important life decisions.
Guests are welcome, and members are encouraged to attend. Anyone age 50 or older is invited to join the chapter. Attendance and pot of gold drawings will be held, and refreshments will be served.
Open house
LISBON – The Open Door Christian Academy and Daycare, 26 Gartley St., will hold an open house form 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10.
It offer child care for infants to school age with before- and after-care. Teachers will be on hand to answer questions and host tours.
The school offers classes for preschool (3-year-olds), two kindergarten classes (4- and 5-year-olds) and grades one through 12.
