RANGELEY – Rangeley Lakes Adult and Community Education will offer the following winter-spring courses:

French for Beginners and Intermediate focusing on businesses doing business with Canadian companies, and on teachers who need to be recertified. Carmen Glidden is the teacher. The course will start on Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. and run for 13 weeks. Registration begins Wednesday, Jan. 5. Cost per student is $75 plus the cost of books.

Advanced Quickbooks will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. with Al Steward. The cost is $150 a person for the certified course. Registration is also immediate.

General Educational Development Preparation is available for those who would like to take the GED exams. Call the Adult Ed office for more information.

ITV College course – College courses can now be taken in Rangeley. The spring semester begins Jan. 18. Bob Ellis, director of the Rumford Center, will be at the Adult Ed office from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, to answer questions and enroll students in a class or two to start their way to a college career.

The Adult Ed also is in partnership with Central Maine Community College. They fund courses to prepare students to enter their programs.
