AUBURN – A display of flags of the nation with the story behind them was held recently at the Washburn School, sponsored by Department of Maine Americanism Chairwoman Irene Ervine with Americanism Officer Richard Doucette of Post 153, American Legion, New Auburn.
The educational display is taken to area schools so students can learn about the American Flag. Many schools are visited every year in about a one-hour program or more. Literature of small flags are given out after to the elementary, middle and high schools.
