On Saturday, February 3rd, Philip W. Sugg Middle School competition cheerleaders competed in “Cheers from the Heart” cheering competition. All benefits from the competition went toward a deserving charity. The squad worked endlessly at pursuing every cheerleader’s dream, a winning routine on competition day. The cheerleaders held their heads high while they walked into the Oxford Hills gymnasium.

Nervously sitting on the bleachers next to their supportive high school cheerleaders, the team tried to raise their spirits while watching their competitors perform. When their time came, the team stood hand in hand waiting for their chance to take the floor. Finally, their moment had arrived. Every jump was on time, every stunt raised with spirit, and everyone worked together as a team, to make every cheerleader’s dream a reality. Their team efforts paid off. The team had taken home the gold!

Every girl was ecstatic as the trophy was presented. All the hours of practicing had finally paid off in the form of first place. The coaches and fans alike were all so proud of the team and how they worked together. All the girls on the cheering squad learned the value of teamwork on that day.
