BRIDGTON – The newly formed Home Bakery Co-Op will sponsor a local Great American Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 22.

The new Caf DeCarlo at 163 Main St. in downtown Bridgton will be the site for the bake sale. There’s plenty of parking.

To meet the $500 pledge the bakery needs lots of labeled baked goods and volunteers to help on that day. All proceeds will go to Maine’s Share Our Strength program.

The national Web site is www.greatamericanbakesale.org. At the site key in the bake sale number: 12795. The firm has pledged to raise $500, but the amount will be increased when it receives pledges and contributions totaling more than $500. Lake Region residents can track the amount through the Web site.

The program helps kids by leveraging and directing existing federal resources. SOS provides at-risk children with regular, healthy meals, especially during summer vacation and during after-school activities.
