OXFORD – The Mollyockett Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, under the direction of Pat Fleck, will compete at the annual Region I competition in Springfield, Mass., on Saturday, May 8.

In preparation, the chorus has received special coaching from Ruth Ann Parker, an international showmanship judge, and from Chris Ferguson, master director of the Royal River Chorus of Falmouth.

The chorus will present a special show to Friends and Family at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris. All are invited. Light refreshments will be available after the show.

Sweet Adelines International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance.

The Mollyockett Chapter, chartered in 1996, is comprised of singers from area towns and communities of Androscoggin and Oxford counties. Open to all women with an ability and desire to sing, rehearsals begin at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Church of the Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ.
