Area towns are preparing for next fall by scheduling kindergarten registration.
SAD 44
BETHEL – SAD 44 is inviting all prospective kindergarten students to register for admission in the fall. The child must be 5 by Oct. 15. To register, call the following schools: Woodstock Elementary, Bryant Pond, 665-2228; Crescent Park, Bethel, 824-2839; and Andover Elementary, 392-4381.
SAD 17
PARIS – Parents of children entering kindergarten in the fall are advised to call their prospective schools for an appointment.

For registration, bring the child, the child’s birth certificate and a copy of the immunization record. At the appointment, there will be a meeting with the kindergarten teachers, school nurse, speech therapist, a representative from the bus garage and school principal.

Registration dates are: May 4, Oxford Elementary, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; May 5, West Paris, noon to 4 p.m.; May 6, Harrison, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; May 11, Waterford, noon to 4 p.m.; May 12, Hebron, noon to 4 p.m.; May 13, Rowe, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; May 18, Fox, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; May 20, Otisfield, 1 to 4 p.m.
Harrison
HARRISON – The Harrison School will be having kindergarten registration for September classes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 6, for any child who will be 5 by Oct. 15.

Parents should call the school secretary at 583-2357 to schedule a 15- to 30-minute appointment for the screening process. Bring the child being registered, a copy of the birth certificate and immunization record. Failure to present a birth certificate at the time of registration will result in an incomplete registration and the child may not be able to enter school in the fall.

Those who have been legally appointed guardian/custodian of a child who is being registered should bring the appropriate legal documents. Each child will have a vision/hearing test, speech screening and height and weight measurements.
SAD 39
HARTFORD – SAD 39, serving the towns of Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield, has scheduled appointment dates for eligible kindergarten students at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School. The registration and screening will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 15 and 16. All children must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15.

All children who will be starting kindergarten next September, including children enrolled in the pre-kindergarten, will need to schedule a screening. To register, contact the Hartford Sumner Elementary School office at 388-2681.
