POLAND – Poland Regional High School will host the Regional High School One-Act Play Festival on Friday and Saturday, March 5 and 6. Nine schools will perform, competing to be the regional representative at the divisional festivals held later in the month.
Performing at 7 p.m. Friday will be Old Orchard, “What Goes Around Comes Around”; Noble, “Drive-In”; Westbrook, “The Boys Next Door”; and Traip Academy, The Fall of the City.”
The Saturday program, which will start at 1:30 p.m., will include Fryeburg Academy, “The Importance of Being Earnest”; Marshwood, “After Liverpool”; and Catherine McAuley, “Jane Eyre, Life at Lockwood.” Rounding out the performances at 6:30 p.m. Saturday will be Poland, “The Crucible,” and Biddeford, “An Evening of Culture.”
The shows will follow each other at approximately 45-minute intervals. The festival is open to the public and seating is limited. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for students for each session.
Proceeds will go to the Maine Principals’ Association to cover the cost of the festival and to promote student activities around the state. For more information, contact D’Arcy Robinson at 998-5400, ext. 218.
