FARMINGTON – Richard and Betty-Jane Meader of Waterville were presented with University of Maine at Farmington’s Florence Hewey Archibald Alumni Service Award on May 15 at the annual Alumni Awards Ceremony. The Alumni Association award honors graduates for outstanding service to the university.
The Meaders, members of the class of 1968, are volunteers, participating in numerous activities and leadership roles throughout the years. Cheerful, hardworking and dedicated, the Meaders exemplify the spirit of alumni involvement.
Dick is the men’s baseball and basketball coach at UMaine Farmington, and Betty-Jane is an associate professor at Thomas College in Waterville. They are involved with alumni connections, acting as class agent, hosting alumni events and advising the alumni and development staff.
