LEWISTON – Douglas and Sonia Taylor, ministry directors of the Oneness Pentecostal Kids’ Church, The Jesus Party, will observe their ninth anniversary of being involved in urban children’s evangelism at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Jesus Party headquarters, 291 Bates St.
Area children are invited to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The evening will consist of an in-depth look at the accomplishments of the Civil Rights leader and his commitment to non-violence in the pursuit of social change. A 23-minute video will feature milestones of the Civil Rights Movement.
The children will also have an opportunity to learn and sing the “Martin Luther King Jr.” song and “let Us Keep His Dream Alive.” Sonia Taylor will distribute coloring crayons to each child as she quotes the poem, “A Box of Crayons,” which illustrates how many colors coming together can create a prettier picture.
Refreshments will be served, and a love offering will be made to the Washington, D.C., Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Project.
