AUGUSTA – Pamela Hallowell-Jordan took first-place honors in the junior division of a poetry contest sponsored by the Maine State Grange Lecturers Committee.
She was presented three first-place ribbons by Maine State Grange Lecturers Chairman Rick Grotton for her entries in Friendship, Inspiration and other categories.
Grotton also presented her with a third-place ribbon for the amount of books she had read in a year.
Hallowell-Jordan is a freshman at Leavitt Area High School in Turner. She is the daughter of Jeanie Cote of Greene and Scott Jordan of Poland.
