WILTON – District 6, Maine Federation of Women’s Clubs, held the fall meeting at the Boiler Room Restaurant, with seven clubs represented. Hostesses were District 6 Co-Presidents Barbara Hathaway and Anne Frary, both of the Wiltona Club.
Gretchen Roy represented the four clubs of the Waterville Women’s Club. Terri LaPointe, president of the Livermore Falls Women’s Club, and Cindy Leib, president of Tyngtown Club, attended. The theme was “Angels Unaware.” A short meeting was held with introductions and reports from each club on their programs and projects.
Guest speakers Sally Manchester, federation president-elect, and Gloria Leveille, membership chairwoman, both of Limerick, spoke on the importance of the women’s club in each member’s life and encouraged increasing membership.
The President’s Special Project was presented by Muriel Bowerman of the Livermore Falls club. The project raises funds for Healthy Community through a raffle of 12 craft items, all in one basket.
Federation President Katherine White of Winterport praised each club for the volunteer work and presented Hathaway and Frary with angels. Angel Unaware certificates were presented to Barbara Knowlton of the Waterville club, Alice Lake and Evelyn Stinson of Wiltona, Phyllis Anctel, Marge Smith, Ruth Gammon, Muriel Bowerman of Livermore Falls and Katherine White, Sally Manchester, Gloria Leveille of the federation.
Raffles and door prizes were selected and the meeting concluded with the repeating of the Collect. For information on joining one of the clubs, contact Hathaway at 645-3449.
