LEWISTON – The parishes of Holy Family, Holy Cross, Our Lady of the Rosary, St. Francis Mission, Holy Trinity, Saints Peter and Paul, St. Patrick’s, St. Joseph’s, Sacred Heart, St. Louis and St. Philip’s will gather from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 25, to celebrate Pastoral Care Week at Holy Cross Parish Hall.

Joining the parishes will be the volunteer Eucharistic ministers from St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Central Maine Medical Center. It will be a morning of recognition and thanks to all pastoral ministers who minister to the homebound, nursing home and hospitalized parishioners.

The pastoral care ministers play an important role in the parishes, and they are a support and help to priests. The gathering will include morning Mass, prayer time together and a presentation on the Eucharist by the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, a Lewiston native, who now serves as pastor of St. Matthew Parish in Hampden.

There will be discussion time, followed by a luncheon served at 11:30 a.m.
