AUBURN – A College Funding Information Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Auburn Public Library.

The library will host an informative evening for parents of students of any age and anyone else interested in learning more about college savings strategies. Karen Vigue from the Finance Authority of Maine will describe the several options available for saving for post-secondary education and how to chose the most appropriate for a family.

Options covered will include the Coverdell Educational Savings Plan (formerly the Education IRA), custodial accounts (UGMAs), Roth IRAs, the 529 College Savings Plan and Maine’s NextGen program. FAME administers the Maine 529 plan.
