WILTON – Wilton Early Childhood Center will hold its annual truck party from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 4, at Cushing School. The town front loader, school bus, police cars and ATVs will be on hand to explore.

A trip to Mars in a special hot rod is a new addition this year. Officer Leahy’s bike maze will challenge the most proficient riders, but they should bring their own wheels. A bake sale will be held.

Film to be aired

SKOWHEGAN – Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset counties will sponsor a spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the Elks Lodge.

Following the dinner, Richard Searls will present and discuss his film, “Dead River Rough Cut,” shot during four seasons in the remote backwoods of Maine following the lives of Bob Wagg and Walter Lane, who worked in the Spencer Lake area cutting trees, trapping beaver and working a team of oxen.

Takeout meal

NEW SHARON – A takeout bean dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the New Sharon Congregational Church.

FARMINGTON – The St. Joseph’s Altar Guild will sponsor the annual fall rummage sale from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 4, at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, corner of Middle and Quebec streets.
