TURNER – The Leavitt Institute class of 1963 will hold its 40th reunion at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 27, at the home of Bob and Doreen Maxwell, Pratt Road.

The class is seeking the following members: David Newton, Sam Hutchinson, Carson Ramsdell, John Harkins and Lilly Mae Cormier.

Essay winner

SKOWHEGAN – The Margaret Chase Smith Library announces winners of the seventh annual Margaret Chase Smith Essay Contest. The first prize of $500 went to Emily Parker, who attends Greely High School in Cumberland. The recipient of the $250 award for second place was Rachel Culley of the Kents Hill School in Readfield.
