LEWISTON – The United Way of Androscoggin County recently received a $3,822 contribution from the UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of United Parcel Service.
The contribution was made through The Foundation’s UPS/United Way Corporate Contribution Program, in which the company contributes funds to United Way organizations in cities nationwide on behalf of UPS employees.
In addition, the employees of the Auburn UPS facility raised $17,803 in 2002 to provide services and care to the residents of Androscoggin County.
“Funds from The UPS foundation and the generosity of UPS employees in Auburn have helped us to continue our mission of increasing the organized capacity of people in Androscoggin County to care for one another,” said Charles Johnson, president/CEO of the United Way of Androscoggin County.
“Their contributions will provide much needed support to the various local United Way agencies that are dedicated to assisting people in need. On behalf of the thousands of clients served by these agencies, the United Way of Androscoggin County expresses its sincere appreciation to The UPS Foundation and the employees for investing in our local community,” he said.
