LEWISTON – The Lewiston Youth Advisory Council completed its noise pollution awareness campaign on May 6 with an awards presentation to St. Joseph’s School kindergarten student Caleb Labrie.

Labrie was the winner of the council’s noise pollution awareness kindergarten through grade three poster contest.

The council received 15 poster entries, and the winning entry was determined by how well the contents encouraged residents to respect their neighbors and to “keep the sound down.”

Labrie received a certificate of recognition and gift card to Mr. Paperback from council Chairwoman Tarrah Bowen. Bowen noted at the presentation, “During our awareness campaign, we wanted to involve the community and to reach out to children at the elementary level.”
