WILTON – Eagle Scout Jon Dunne recently dedicated the flagpole at the Wilton Town Office, which had been his Eagle Scout project.

Dunne spoke of the steps he had taken for the project and thanked members of his troop, Rep. Thomas Saviello, Matt Dubois representing Sen. Michael Michaud’s office and members of Franklin Grange 50 for their assistance with the project.

During the dedication, Dunne presented Wilton Town Manager Peter Nielsen with a flag of the United States that will be flown during special occasions. The flag had been flown over the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Saviello spoke to Michaud who, in turn, requested the flag to be donated. Matt Dubois, a member of Michaud’s staff, was on hand for the presentation.

Performing part of the flag ceremony was Palmer Hebert, Army-Desert Storm, Wallace Tripp, Air Force-Korea, and Roland Therrien, Navy-World War II. The men are all members of VFW Post 3335.
