Art show

NORWAY – The Fare Share Commons, under the auspices of the Commons Arts Collective will host a show highlighting 30 years of work by Casco-based artist and collective member Om Devi Reynolds.

The show opens at 7 p.m. Friday, May 2, and will run through May 31.

Firearms seminar

FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Fish and Game Association Inc. will sponsor a three-hour seminar, “Firearms and the Law,” presented by Portland attorney John Chapman at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Fryeburg Fire Station, Route 302. The fee is $15.

Parking issue

WEST PARIS – There will be a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the historical hall to discuss the new municipal parking lot behind the town’s library.

Painting auction

PARIS – The Paris Public Library is recruiting area artists to participate in its slate-painting auction fund-raiser for the summer. Slate shingles were removed from the library’s roof as work on an addition is progressing and the slates are being used in the contest.

“Attics” postponed

NORWAY – “Attics to Archives” has been postponed to 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Norway Memorial Library. The program will be presented by Jean and David Hankins and Ethel Turner of the Otisfield Historical Society. For more information, call the library at 743-5309.

Lodge session

PARIS – Paris Lodge No. 94, AF and AM, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the hall on East Main Street. A 6:30 p.m. supper is optional. Richard Box will speak on Freemasonry in the 1600s.

Pie contest

Bridge results

NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge played a Mitchell Movement on April 25. North-South winners were: first, Paul Barber and Richard Balian; second, Martha Clements and Nancy Farmer. East-West winners were: first, Carol Curran and Suzanne Dame; second, Steve Slavick and Richard Allen.

The group meets at 9 a.m. every Friday at the Community Room of Town and Country Mobile Home Village on Route 26. Any bridge players can participate. A partner is not necessary. For more information, call Rowena Palmer at 743-2882.
