BRIDGTON – Bridgton Public Library will present a program on the “Trees of Maine” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, in the library’s main reading room. The program is geared for all age levels and is free.
Maine’s forests are among earth’s most magnificent, with a wide variety of species, and are an important source of revenue and employment for residents.
The critical importance to human life of the globe’s most indispensable plant, the intertwined relationship of trees, man, animal and insect, the portrait of a forest’s life and its seasonal rhythms will be examined.
The state’s woodlands are its most characteristic feature, and the program will help participants see both the forest and the trees. The special presentation will be given by the Chewonki Foundation.
