OES visitation
WALES – Lakeside Chapter 60, OES, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, for its official visitation with the grand conductress of Maine, Susan M. Hawes of Bangor. The meeting will be held at the Grange/Masonic Building at 322 Centre Road. Visiting members are welcome.
Lakeside members will assist the members of Webster Lodge with a public chicken barbecue on Saturday, Sept. 23, to raise funds for the building. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be $8 for adults, $4 for children. Reservations may be made by mail to Webster Lodge, P.O. Box 471, Sabattus, ME 04280.

Culture day
LEWISTON – The Lewiston Farmers’ Market will note World Cultures Day featuring food from around the globe from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at near the corner of Bates and Pine streets.

Breast-feeding
AUBURN – Expectant women and breast-feeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome. Discussion will focus on “Breast-feeding: The Mother-Baby Relationship and the Weaning Process.” All concerns about breast-feeding are welcome for discussion.
