WILTON – The 11th reunion of the descendants of Alton and Ethel (York) Adams was held July 22 at Kineowatha Park.

A day of socializing and activities was held, starting with coffee and breakfast treats. A potluck dinner was served at 1 p.m. followed by the business meeting. President Andy Goodwin called the meeting to order. A memorial remembrance was held, with Vera Corey reading the names of the deceased family members followed by a moment of silence. Candy Goodwin reported on the family cookbook and said she still needs more recipes.

Election of officers for a two-year term was held. Elected were: honorary president, Vera Corey; president, Andy Goodwin; vice president, Candy Goodwin; secretary and historian, Methel Goodwin; assistant, Cassie Goodwin; treasurer, Butch Adams.

Committees elected were: food, Tim Goodwin and Stephanie Hopkins; entertainment, Andy and Kathleen Goodwin and family. Graduates this year were: eighth grade, Cassie Goodwin; high school, Christina and Courtney Goodwin, Abigale Corey; college, Lindsey Adams. It was decided to hold future reunions at Kineowatha Park. Next year’s will be July 28.

The statistical report given by the secretary included four births, one marriage and one death. There are now 128 direct descendants, 168 including spouses, and 12 direct descendant deaths.

Attending from out-of-state for the first time were Tony and Janice Goodwin, Ben and Chris, of Ellicott City, Md.
