On Fri. Mar. 4, St. Peter and Sacred Heart School had a spelling bee for grades 6, 7, and 8 to determine who would go to the next Androscoggin spelling bee at Sabattus Central School on March 15 at 7 p.m.
There were several rounds of spelling at St. Peter and Sacred Heart School to determine the winner and the runner up who will both move on. The last four spellers were Kacie Rioux, Rich Lamarre, Adam Meservier, and Kirsten Poulin. The two students in the end were very determined to win but in the end only one could. The good thing though, is that both students get to go to Sabattus and compete against other schools. The winner of the spelling bee was Adam Meservier, and Kirsten Poulin was the runner up. They are both great spellers from the 6th grade, and their teacher Miss Jen Poliquin was very proud of them.
