PORTLAND – Maine Preservation announces a call for nominations for the 2004 Statewide Historic Preservation Honor Awards. Categories include commercial and residential restoration/rehabilitation, adaptive use, cultural landscapes, organizational excellence, craftsmanship/ trades and the preservation champion award, recognizing individual accomplishment in historic preservation.
“We are seeking nominations that exemplify best practices of historic preservation – those that serve by example and inspire others to take action locally,” said Maine Preservation Executive Director Roxanne Eflin.
“This year, we are particularly interested in receiving nominations for creative design and construction solutions involved in adaptive use projects of commercial and industrial buildings,” she said.
Nomination forms and submission criteria may be obtained by visiting Maine Preservation’s Web site at www.mainepreservation.org or by phoning 775-3652. All applications must be postmarked no later than April 2 and mailed to Maine Preservation, P.0. Box 1198, Portland, ME 04104 or delivered to 500 Congress St.
The awards ceremony will take place on May 5 during National Preservation Week.
