BUCKFIELD – The western chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Buckfield sugar maple operation of Roger Jackson on the back side of Streaked Mountain.

Follow Route 117 from South Paris over the top of Streaked Mountain then take a left on North Whitman School Road, a right on Paris Hill Road and a left on Allen School Road. About a mile and a half down that road, take a left on Horace Cummings Road and park. Signs will be posted. Bring snowshoes.

After touring the sapping operation, the group will convoy to Roger’s sugar shack in Oxford to tour that part of the operation. For more information, contact chapter President Merle Ring at 674-3787.
