WATERFORD – Accountant Richard Hunt was elected to the Waterford Board of Selectmen on Friday.
Hunt ran unopposed for the three-year term and received 57 votes. He succeeds Norman Rust who did not seek another term. There were six write-ins for the seat, but the names were not immediately available.
Hunt, who was reached by telephone at his home after the vote, said he was looking forward to serving on the board.
Hunt has lived in Waterford for 25 years and previously worked on a committee deliberating assessments in Waterford.
In his first act as selectman, Hunt will join board members John Bell and Randy Lessard at the annual town meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the municipal building on Valley Road.
