FRYEBURG – An 18-year-old woman was charged with aggravated assault Sunday after an altercation with her live-in boyfriend.

Latifah Chantae Cousins of Kennerson Drive was arrested after her 20-year-old boyfriend reported the incident at the police station.

According to a report by officer Ian Tait of the Fryeburg Police Department, the man declined treatment by emergency services for a superficial 18-inch cut across his shoulder and chest. The man said Cousins punched him and slashed him with a utility knife during an argument.

Cousins was arrested without incident and initially held on $20,000 cash or $50,000 surety bail. Her bail was reduced to $500 cash or a supervised bail release by Judge Paul Cote at her initial appearance in South Paris District Court on Tuesday.

Cousins was released from the Oxford County Jail by Wednesday evening.
