PORTER – A 24-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon after being charged with sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl.

Bryan Scott Lane Gower of River Street in Porter was charged with six counts of gross sexual assault.

According to an affidavit by Trooper Dan Hanson of the Maine State Police, Gower admitted to having six to seven instances of sexual contact with the girl within the past month.

Gower was initially held on $25,000 bail, which was reduced to $10,000 after he made his initial appearance Tuesday in South Paris District Court before Judge Paul Cote. Jr.

Gower remained at the Oxford County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
