WATERFORD – A 19-year-old Waterford man was arrested Sunday on several sex abuse charges.

Jacob James Goddard of Mill Hill Road is charged with four counts of felony gross sexual assault and one count of misdemeanor unlawful sexual touching in the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl. He remained at the Oxford County Jail on Monday afternoon on $25,000 bail.

According to Deputy William Nelson of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, police learned of the assault after Goddard’s grandmother called the Oxford Police Department with a criminal trespass complaint. Nelson said the woman wanted Goddard off her property after finding out about the sexual conduct.

“She’s within the age, but it was not consensual,” said Nelson.

Nelson said he interviewed the girl on Friday and arrested Goddard on Sunday at a Paris motel. The girl said that the conduct had been occurring over the past three months. The misdemeanor charge was a result of an incident in which Goddard allegedly grabbed the girl’s breasts.

“He didn’t admit to all the counts, but he admitted to some,” said Nelson.
