NORWAY – Police searched the home of a man who was recently indicted by a grand jury on a charge of possessing child pornography, and in their search of his apartment Tuesday, discovered adult and teen pornography, according to a police report.

Ronald K. Parsons Jr., 44, had been released on bail while his case was pending in Superior Court, and as part of his condition of release he was not allowed to possess any pornography, even legal materials, Norway police Chief Rob Federico said Wednesday.

Because he allegedly violated this condition, police arrested Parsons again, taking him out of his Norway apartment Tuesday afternoon in handcuffs. Federico said Parsons was arraigned Wednesday and issued a $100 bail, but he remains in the Oxford County jail on a probation hold.

Parsons was originally arrested in early November after the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and local police completed an investigation at his Paris apartment.

He moved to Norway about a month ago, according to police.

On Tuesday afternoon, Sgt. James Ventresca and probation officer Wayne Sturdivant checked on Parsons’ residence at 256 Main St., Apt. 7 as part of a routine probation check, Federico said.

Ventresca wrote in his report that Parsons was home at the time, and that he and Sturdivant found porn magazines underneath Parson’s bed, as well as several sexually explicit photos and videos.

“The magazines, photos and video tapes were confiscated,” Ventresca wrote. “Parsons’ vehicle was impounded at Charlie’s Towing and will be searched for further evidence.”

Federico said that police were still investigating the case and will be interviewing witnesses. “We haven’t gone through all of it yet, there is a huge volume of it,” Federico said about the confiscated material. Police also are waiting to obtain a search warrant for Parsons’ car.
