NORWAY – Western Maine Health will present a Best of Health seminar with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Paul G. Morton from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in the Harper Conference Center at the Ripley Medical Building, 193 Main St.

Singing Star’
OXFORD – Anyone who likes to sing is invited to compete for the title of The Maine Star at 6 p.m. Wednesdays, April 21 and 28, at the Emugene Staples Hall, Route 121.
The Maine Star winner will receive a night to remember, a chance to sing with the Elton Record Band, gift certificates, a trophy and a framed certificate.
Registration fee is $20. Spectator admission is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 12 and under.

Hunter safety course starts Saturday
HARRISON – A hunter safety course will be sponsored by the Western Maine Fish and Game Club from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25, at the Harrison Fire Station. Students must attend both days to receive certification. Students must be at least 10 years old; those under age 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Class size is limited to 40 students on a first come, first served basis. A $3 donation is required per student. NORWAY – The Norway Grange 45 will hold a open house for the public from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at the grange hall on Whitman Street. The Community Citizen Award will be presented to the Oxford County Agricultural Society during the program. Refreshments will be served following the program.
Chorale, chorus schedule three spring concerts
OXFORD HILLS – The Hills Alive Chorale and The Hillsmen Barbershop Chorus will hold their spring benefit concerts directed by Dan Allen and accompanied by Faye Hill. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 30, in the North Windham Union Church, Windham; at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, in the Hebron Baptist Church, Hebron, and 7 p.m. Friday, May 7, at the First Congregational Church, South Paris. Tickets for the South Paris concert are $8 per person and are available at Books-N-Things in the Oxford Shopping Plaza, and at Tere K. Porters, O.D., office in Norway. Tickets will also be sold at the door on show night.
