NORWAY – The Stone-Smart Post and Unit 82 of the American Legion is searching for crafters who would like to rent a table at the Legion’s fall festival craft fair, flea market, and food sale. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the post home on Main Street. Tables are $10 each. The sale will also offer pumpkins, apples and cider.
Post members will serve a breakfast sandwich, coffee and doughnuts in the morning, and hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch.

Benefit dance
NORWAY – A dance will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Norway Legion Hall to benefit Norway Selectman Russ Newcomb who underwent heart surgery in June. Tickets are $15 per couple and are available at Ken’s Yamaha, Millett’s Variety and Allen’s Auto Sales, all on Route 26.
Society picnic
HEBRON – The annual picnic for the Finnish American Heritage Society will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Hebron Pines Campground. There will be a souvenir and gift table and a standing coffee and pulla table. Potluck lunch will be ready at 12:30 p.m., or individuals may bring their own picnic lunch. Grills will be available. Attendees should bring chairs and charcoal. A swimming pool will be available. Entertainment will include Tim Bennett, a karate demonstration, and Carol Reinholm, who will provide accordion music. A door prize and raffle drawing will be held. Admission is $2 for ages 10 and older, under age 10 is free. Hebron Pines Campground is on Route 124.
