BETHEL – Telstar High School Principal Ted Davis has agreed to take the job of interim principal at Telstar Middle School. The SAD 44 Board of Directors unanimously approved the agreement Monday night.
“Ted knows the district and understands the community,” Superintendent David Murphy said, “so we feel this makes him a good candidate to fill in at the middle school.”
Murphy said he has had several applications but none have the qualifications or experience that district officials feel are needed.
“We are looking to find a full-time principal who not only has the right qualifications to lead the school, but also has prior experience at the middle school level,” he said.
In other business, the board approved the appointments of Beth Chamberlain as grade five looping teacher, Tracy Morin to grade four, and Sarah Card to teach grade three, all at Crescent Park School in Bethel. Laurie Daun was appointed a sixth grade teacher and Lois Ruff an adult literary teacher, both at Telstar Middle and High School in Bethel.
“They were all excellent candidates and we feel confident that we will have a great year coming up for our students,” Murphy said.
