MEXICO – Selectmen are expected to announce the name of the new town manager when they meet Wednesday.

The board met in a closed session late Friday afternoon and early evening to interview the two semi-finalists for the position.

Board Chairman Arthur Bordeau said following Friday’s interviews that the Town Manager Search Committee had chosen a finalist, but had agreed to wait until Wednesday to make the announcement.

Former Town Manager Joseph Derouche resigned from the position he had held for 10 years at the end of December.

A total of 13 men and women had applied for the position. All but two are from Maine, including the semi-finalists.

The search committee is made up of selectmen, Planning Board Chairman Dan Casey and SAD 43 director and former Selectman Betty Barrett.
