The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine is in need of some caring people in Oxford County to serve as “wish granters.”

Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization working to make wishes come true for Maine children with life-threatening illnesses. In the past 11 years the Maine chapter has fulfilled nearly 500 wishes to children in every county in the state.

Wish granters work in teams and act as the primary contact between the children and the Make-A-Wish office until the wish is completed. There is no financial obligation, and training, and support are provided. The next wish granting training will be held Feb. 7. For more information about volunteering or receiving a wish, contact wish coordinator Lynn MacGregor at 1-800-491-3171.
