RUMFORD – Police responding to a reported robbery late Wednesday night at Bangor Savings Bank found three men who had fallen through a plate glass window into the lobby.

After sorting out what happened, police arrested Scot Oldham, 23, of Livermore, Shane A. Reid, 23, of Livermore, and Aaron Ryder, 24, of Peru.

At 11:18 p.m., a woman ran into the police station, saying three men had just broken into the bank at 118 Congress St., less than a block away from the station. She told the dispatcher the men were robbing the bank.

Police arrived with guns drawn to find three men in the bank lobby.

According to the police report, the three had entered the bank’s ATM section and were attempting to complete a transaction to withdraw money. But they began wrestling and accidentally fell through a floor to ceiling plate glass window, landing inside the lobby and suffering minor cuts and scrapes.

All three were charged with criminal mischief. Ryder was additionally charged with violation of conditions of release.

Reid and Oldham were released on $150 unsecured bail; Ryder was transported to Oxford County Jail in Paris.

The are to appear for arraignment on Nov. 2 in Rumford District Court.
