The Franklin County Deputy Sheriff’s Association has endorsed Detective Thomas White of Jay, the Republican candidate for Franklin County sheriff.

The group met and voted Friday. White was selected by secret ballot.

The association, which was created in 2002, includes officers of the Sheriff’s Department up to and including sergeants.

A founding member of the association, White served as its first president.

Three Sheriff’s Department members are seeking the post: White, Deputy Albert Smith, D-Wilton, and Sheriff Dennis Pike, I-Farmington.
