LIVERMORE FALLS – Superintendent Doug Burdo told Water District trustees Wednesday that activities for Drinking Water Week were successful, with participation by students from both Livermore Falls Middle School and Jay High School.

He presented three options to the board for replacement of sand in one of the four filters at the Moose Hill Pond plant.

Only $25,000 had been budgeted for the exchange and two of the options were well over that amount.

Reluctantly the board agreed to the third option, having the sand delivered to the site and hauled in by wheelbarrow, as it was done originally.
