SALEM – A new driver education class will begin Monday, Nov. 17.
Classes will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Mount Abram High School. Registration may be done at the Adult Education Office in Kingfield.
Students must bring an original birth certificate and a signed Social Security card when they register.
A parent or guardian must also be present for registration. The course is $500. People can phone 265-5511, extension 7, for registration appointments.
Veterans Day
WILTON – The Wilton Free Public Library will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. The library will open at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Alliance meeting
FARMINGTON – The next Tumbledown Conservation Alliance meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Room 207 of Ricker addition at the University of Maine at Farmington.
Included on the agenda will be a discussion of the alliance’s new brochure.
School meetings
FARMINGTON – Parent teacher conferences will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Mount Blue High School. People can call Terry at 778-3561 to make an appointment.
Homeless teens
FARMINGTON – A special meeting concerning teenage homelessness will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Clergy of Franklin County, local service providers and anyone who may be interested in the problem or solution of homelessness in the area are being invited to attend.
Franklin County Refuge will share its purpose, vision and plans, and receive input from service providers.
Town office closed
JAY – The Jay Town Office will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
