Dear Sun Spots: L/A Community Little Theater is still seeking cast members for a couple of roles for our all-African American March production, “Once on This Island.” It opens March 7 and runs until March 16.

We have five weeks until opening and are seeking to cast several roles. If you know of anyone who would be able to fill the following roles please have them contact us. We are still looking to cast:

Daniel Beauxhomme (late teens, early 20s), a handsome, aristocratic young man, tenor, C – E.

Erzulie, (age 20 to 50) Goddess of Love, soprano.

Little Ti Moune (age 7 to 11), young girl, some group singing.

The musical is a “highly original and theatrical Caribbean fairy tale which sings and dances the story of Ti Moune, the black peasant girl who rescues, nurses and falls in love with Daniel, a mulatto from a wealthy family. The show focuses on the effects social class divisions have on love. This play is strongly influenced by music and dance.”

If you know of anyone who is available and might be interested, please have them contact director Ron Bouffard [email protected] or 783-0958.

Shows will be held March 7 to 9 and March 13 to 16. Curtain is at 8 p.m.; 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays; and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $15 each. FMI please call Community Little Theater at 783-0958.

Dear Sun Spots: Does anyone have old dress patterns from 1900s to 1950s they want to get rid of? Or part with for a nominal amount?

Our DAR Chapter is having a 100th anniversary this summer and I’d like to make some old style dresses to wear.

You can e-mail me at [email protected] or phone me at 899-9995. Thanks. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: On Jan. 30 you had a reader write in about asking what had happened to pin-up lamps. Well, please tell that person they can get some made right here in Maine. We may also be reached at 297 Main St. (Route 26), Greenwood or alternatively at 23 Main Street in Bethel. – Ellen Whitney, Maine Line Products, Greenwood/Bethel.
